The same street in Levenshulme, Manchester, one hundred years apart. The private motor vehicle is an invasive species, which gradually crowds out and suffocates the rich social life of our cities. When cars don’t dominate the streets, life flourishes.

For the 5th consecutive year child casualties have flat-lined at around 13,000 road casualties of age 16 and under. In what other area of life would the death or injury of 13,000 children be "acceptable"? The government has a Road Safety Strategy that aims to reduce child KSIs by 70%.

The next generation of iron-air batteries can do *at least* 6,000 cycles - equivalent to more than 16 years of daily operation - with zero storage capacity loss. This will destroy the fossil fuel industry. That’s why the campaign to ‘kill net zero’ has dramatically ramped up.

Darren Jones, the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, told the Commons this week: "Did I...treat...Mandelson differently because I perceived him to have influence and power in the Labour Party?...yes, I did. Have I benefited...yes." In a normal democracy, this would be a resigning matter.

Your periodic reminder net zero is a scientific term referring to the balance of anthropogenic emissions and carbon sinks required to stop temperatures spiralling out of control, bringing with them drastically increased risk of food insecurity, catastrophic weather, and civilisation-level disaster.

🚨Elon Musk has boosted the public profile of Restore Britain leader Rupert Lowe on X, pulling Britain’s political discourse towards extreme content and amplifying his influence ahead of a knife-edge election in Makerfield More @FT: as.ft.com/r/80f4639f-0...

Dot plot of X posts with at least 2mn views since Restore Britain launched showing Rupert Lowe has far more viral posts than Farage despite having a third of the followers

It means your children will be servants of the ruling techno elite, working menial 'jobs' for food and and health credits. If you weren't willing to prevent your kids being exposed to social media - if, indeed, you facilitated it - you aren't doing anything about this, either.

What if I told you one study in Manchester found that shade from street trees reduced surface temperatures by an average of 12°C, and concrete surfaces shaded permanently by a bank of trees were cooled by up to 20°C during a heatwave? You might not believe me. But it's true…👇

It's nice to see the political class finally waking up, but the fact that I - and others - were talking about the harm social media is doing to our children more than half a decade ago shows why a country led by ditherers instead of doers keeps lurching from crisis to crisis.
