Neither socialists nor communists destroyed 237 years of Constitutional democracy. In 2010 SCOTUS passed "Citizens United", the most deceptively named Republican ruse since Fox "News" (aka GOP TV), which unleashed unregulated capitalist greed. And the biggest billionaire feeding frenzy in history.

Republicans are so pathetic they're recycling Red Scare dogwhistles as old as Trump: NB reporters: "McCarthy's reckless and unfounded attempt to impugn my loyalty is just one more example of his typical tactic of attempting to tie up to Communism anyone who disagrees with him." --Edward R. Murrow

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. the most realistic scene in Jurassic Park is when two scientists make a questionable decision — traveling to an undisclosed location with a strange man — on the promise of three years of modest funding

"If the scientific community fails to address the influence of AI, then authentic research and validated findings will slow down to an expensive trickle into established knowledge, and the opportunities for flawed or fabricated info to be seen as reality will grow—all while AI profiteers cash in."

AI in scientific publishing: Slower, worse, and more expensive

There’s a saying in the management world, popularized by NASA administrator Daniel Goldin in the 1990s, that the goal of technological improvements is to make products faster, better, and cheaper. Alt...
