Nothing against Pope Leo XIV himself, but not particularly excited about his visit to Catalonia if he will only speak in Spanish, with no effort at all to speak in Catalan, as sources say. Antoni Gaudí, the Sagrada Família architect, was a Catalanist himself, so let's hope for hope from the Pope.

You don't need to be the chancellor of Germany to see that there was no exit strategy from the moment Israel and the USA called on local insurgency to take power, in a country with no organised opposition! ...besides the Kurdish guerrillas, but then good luck explaining your plans to Turkey

Only last week German Chancellor Friedrich Merz was "on the same page" as U.S. President Donald Trump over the goals of the Iran war ... he's now publicly airing his fears that Trump has no exit strategy to end fighting.

I support Spain's position standing to bully Trump, would love to see other EU countries doing the same, but would also love to see Spain sending military help for defensive purposes to EU countries being targeted right now, such as Cyprus. This is what being European should be about.

I hate to admit it, but Spain under Pedro Sánchez seems to be the only European country showing a bit of common sense in international affairs right now. How on earth do you get into a war counting on a popular uprising to determine the outcome, when there is no organised opposition?

Old enough to have seen every Terminator movie, debated them with your mates in real life—not on some soulless digital gadget—and to have the lesson burned into your brain forever: what happens when you let machines make too many decisions for you.

AIs can’t stop recommending nuclear strikes in war game simulations Leading AIs from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google opted to use nuclear weapons in simulated war games in 95 per cent of cases www.newscientist.com/article/2516...

The images we’re seeing of the effects of Storm Kristin in central Portugal are terrible, and as always, the Catalan and Spanish press completely ignore what’s happening in that country unless it’s to talk about politics or sports.

The EU just decided to indefinitely immobilise Russian assets. This ensures that up to €210 billion in Russian funds stay on EU soil, unless Russia fully pays reparations to Ukraine for the damage it has caused. (1/2)

If European Digital Sovereignty is to mean anything, it ought to mean NOT posting on a platform owned and run by a fascist intent on undermining the EU! And don't give me the bullshit you have to be there for "balance" or "reach" - the rules are stacked against you from the outset

Are you a European Union citizen yet still waste your time on that shitty platform called X? Think seriously about why you’re still there—and leave. X and its megalomaniac boss are undermining everything we’ve built and achieved over the last 70 years.

The European Commission has lost access to its control panel for buying and tracking ads on Elon Musk’s X — after fining the social media platform €120 million for violating EU transparency rules.
