I did a test run of an agent I generated from a distilled, "cliff notes" amalgamation of Building a Second Brain, The PARA Method, the OKF 0.2 spec, and the Karpathy LLM-wiki concept, and gave it a copy of my Obsidian notebook to populate a new PARA notebook with. It accidentally deleted everything.

If you could turn one book you own into an interactive agent you could ask questions or use to improve your life in a meaningful way, what would it be? I built an agent and set of skills from Building a Second Brain /PARA method which I then merged with the OKF spec and LLM-wiki concept.
I've been using an LLM memory / wiki tool built around the principles Karpathy shares here where you use the OKF markdown bundle structure as the substrate for a knowledge graph, and then expose very simple query/update/add methods for creating and maintaining that graph.

I've been having fun tinkering with running AI models locally and learning how to squeeze as much value out of my low-end hardware as possible. Until now I've only really been using opencode and hermes for text generation & coding. I finally got around to getting vision working and I'm delighted!
I discovered the joy and pain of 010 Editor Templates while working on parsing XProtect media database BLK files and just about have a general purpose template for video & audio BLK files. But I really don't care for the proprietary syntax that lacks a CLI tool that works on a headless terminal.

Hey so if you’re a man with an XX partner or child that you care about, I need you to read this thread because shit is not going to change unless cis men start not being okay with this stuff.
Thanks to cutting-edge #copilot technology I can, for the first time ever, automatically accept meeting requests from my boss. It's incredible what we can do now thanks entirely to nondeterministic ai models which we would never use to solve problems that were already solvable in the 90's.
Someone copied my GliderUI repo and rewrote the README. It leads the users to download a zip file and run a suspicious exe. It's really sad to see this. Already reported but not sure if any action is taken. Be careful, mine is mdgrs-mei/GliderUI and it's available on the PowerShell gallery.
mild take: we're watching silicon valley get very excited about their tools in the same way a guy with a huge wall of ryobi stuff thinks his collection is more important than what he does with the tools

Sometimes I wish password fields had a "close enough" feature. Something like... "You clearly know what your password is. The probability of being THAT close on the first try and NOT knowing it is astronomical. You may pass." (yeah yeah hashing makes this impossible and that's a good thing)
🚨 This conference will sell out. 🚨 And when it does… the only thing left is “I’ll go next year.” So the real question is… 👀 Are you going, or watching everyone else post about it?

Kia's Lane Keep Assist feature has this funny rule where if it can't detect your hands on the wheel it will eventually just turn off. They don't want people using it for "autopilot". I get that. But is shutting off the only thing keeping the car on the road the right move?
*sigh* No #Nvidia, I'm not logging in to your annoying desktop app to check for a driver update. I guess I'll just go find it on your website where I sure hope I won't be faced with a login prompt for a driver...

People keep personifying LLMs like ChatGPT and Claude, and I find myself imagining these models are like Bob in the "We Are Legion (We Are Bob)" book / Bobiverse series. Not sure if coincidence but also Robert (Bob) Daly in Black Mirror USS Callister episodes has digital clone enslaved in game.

I love that the username portion of the fake people in this anti-phishing email I just got are "LMAO" and "ROFL"
Thank you. I've been saying the same thing, just not as loudly lol... Filling your repo with markdown files with detailed instructions for all the things you want your coding agent to do well is exactly the kind of thing we should have been doing to ensure human developers could code well all along
THEY’RE DOCUMENTATION THEN? THE SHIT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN WRITING THE WHOLE TIME? AND THE ADVICE FOR WRITING THEM BOILS DOWN TO THE EXACT SAME SET OF POINTS YOU SHOULD APPLY TO DOCS FOR HUMANS? HOW COOL. AND INTERESTING. TELL ME MORE. _dissolves into a frothing puddle_
I just rediscovered a little #powershell module I wrote a few years ago. I originally wrote it for reading/writing from interactive processes like netsh but it comes in handy for kicking off installers and streaming their stdout too.

A recruitment ad for CBP / Immigration and Customs Enforcement showed up in my LinkedIn feed this evening. So I did my duty and reported the dangerous extremist organization. Promoting such hateful and violent extremists is against their ToS after all. #abolishice
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again in professional contexts: "Actually yeah, there's a command in the module for that! Here's the docs page with examples, let me know if you have any questions!"
