The most significant challenge I encountered while developing an AI agent for chemistry is the paywall of journals! There should be a universal rule that mandates all journals to make all their data publicly accessible after certain period. Until then, we can’t democratize science, even with AI.

In 2018, I had the privilege of hearing Prof. Omar Yaghi’s lecture at the Technion, when he received the Wolf Prize in Chemistry. It’s wonderful to see him honored with the 2025 #NobelPrize in Chemistry, together with Prof. Kitagawa and Prof. Robson, for their work on reticular chemistry and MOFs.
