i think, now, more than ever its really important to interact with people who like your art and vice versa, and cultivate more community and trust among artists and commissioners and followers in general. its not a perfect system by any means but i think building trust between everyone will help

Someone I know later found out an artist (16k followers) they got a commision from uses AI and now they don't have funds to commish me or another artist they like. Not only does the slop machine steal art, these scammers directly steal work from real artists

my simple way of looking at it is that when your hungry anything will taste good, but when you're constantly being assailed with amazing food then excellence is just to be expected, and what was once wonderous becomes the norm, and thats exactly what happened with entertainment.

Making calls sucks, but as someone with really bad phone anxiety even I can say it's actually really easy and quick! I promise you that you'll feel so much better if you do it and if you get a lil treat afterwards it'll be even better~

They certainly PRETEND to be useful. They pretend to make things soooo much easier, soooo much faster. Soooo much less friction. The moment you buy into the pretense, you also buy into that philosophy of effortless ease. And that's when your process and your work starts becoming sloppy.

ai feels like a special poison for ppl who know they have a certain level of intelligence bc they think they resist the siren call and use it moderately. it reminds me of that one reddit thread where someone said they will just do heroin (once) and then spiralled into a years long addiction.
give more credit to black furries. black furries have routinely showed me the best times in this fandom and in irl furry spaces/events. yet we really only focus on fandom problems affecting the comfort levels of white ppl while ignoring racism in various parts of the fandom.
