when i describe vita -- rude, yells a lot, always has an attitude, literally cannibalistic and a murderer -- she doesn't sound very presentable. but she's absolutely adorable and i love that you can't help but to love her in spite of that, because she's also very sweet and loyal and spontaneous.

"Threatening to kill me again, hm?" I asked. I tried to feign being calm and cool, in control. But internally, I was seeing red. “This is becoming a theme in our relationship.” "We don’t have a relationship. And it's not a threat. I will kill you if you do not back down." She spoke with pure poison. Glaring at her, I gestured toward the portal. I was tired of being in her presence. I was tired of wanting her, and tired of wanting her dead. "The only way to kill me is for you to shift, and you know that. And you're too chickenshit to do it. So good luck, Angelique. And get the fuck out of my house."

if you don't put voice into your work and develop a style that distinguishes you from other writers, you're going to slip through the cracks. it's something that is way more important (and harder) than people make it seem. if you want to stand out, you have to stand out.

#queerwriterschat my self edits are pretty thorough and there are many rounds before it sees my hired editor. i got used to having to smash it when i was ghostwriting and do most of the work myself so that i had a publishable first draft. too bad i dont know grammar or words.
