Vedya can do math in her head that most people, mathematicians included, would need tools to do. Dalia is a telempath, she can feel other people's emotions even when she can't see or hear them. Helpful, given she has difficulty reading body language. Chooli has a natural gift for seeing spirits.

Vedya is very funny & swears a lot, friendly but often says accidentally hurtful things cuz empathy doesn't come naturally to her. Dalia is a sweetheart who loves monstrous animals & cries a lot. She's also chronically anxious. Chooli helps animal spirits that are afraid after death to move on.

The heirarchy is very strict, at least in official Archenean religion: 1) sol, the sun 2) the gods of the other planets 3) major earthly gods (1 of each element, worshiped empire-wide) 4) minor earthly gods, which are local or regional deities who swear allegiance to Sol's order.

#MythAugust Definitely Val-Kresh is the most respected, arguably the most powerful alongside his brother. And in theory Nal-Kresh SHOULD be as venerated as his brother but as we went over last night. Yeah, not so much. There's a pretty sturdy consensus that Val is the big cheese. (1/2)

#MythAugust I'd implied this yesterday, but of all the gods, the First Queen doesn't actually rank all that high, no. Even outside of the Dawnlit, most regard her as a small, minor, near-powerless insect of a god, much like people actually regard mortal insects. (1/4)

This is never really established in The Maple Glade Archer other than characters saying "Gods" with an S, so enjoy some ✨bonus lore✨ The gods worshipped are the elements of nature (God of Fire, Goddess of Earth, etc.) and are considered even in ranks. Nature requires all equal parts to exist!

In The Cruel Gods, there are two gods that are respected above all others. Starting with the Glimmer god, Gildola, and this is because the Glimmer basically rule the Golden City above Chime, which gives them a lot of political and financial power. But the real power is Dor, god of time. #MythAugust

The One, of course, thrones over all. Which is easy, because there's noone else (aside from the mortals). The Ten had a fluctuating dynamic, but no clear hierarchy. It was a regional / cultural thing, too. The Luravin might hold the God of Instinct higher than others. for example. #MythAugust

#MythAugust They're all meant to be generally equal and balanced parts of the whole they're not at the moment. However, it may look skewed as half of them have portfolios that are more "active" and thus w/ more developed follower systems versus those that are more "passive" functions of existence.

Darzi-Ekh is the supreme deity. Whenever a character says "the Goddess" they nearly always mean her. Nidzi -- Mother Earth -- is second in rank, but her feast days are the most significant, since she nurtures all life. The lesser goddesses are invoked and revered to a lesser extent. #MythAugust
