Really enjoyed the annual @voltcenter.bsky.social retreat with great colleagues - two days of science, creativity, and connection. Great energy to carry into the rest of the academic year!
Every year on week 37 @voltcenter.bsky.social goes away for two days of science, fun, inspiration and team building. Here are some of the many highlights in thread:
Here is the starter pack you have all been waiting for: IPCC AR7 Scientists (the scientists that will write the next assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for the next few years) Thanks @soniaseneviratne.bsky.social bsky.app/starter-pack...
Had an amazing time at Centre for Digital Life Norway Research School conference in Stavanger, Norway - inspiring talks, great discussions, refreshing morning swims, and of course a touch of volatiles 🍃 #DLN2025
Resubmitting a manuscript at 09:00 hits different. Feels like I just finished a 8-to-4 before breakfast. 🐝
Revising the manuscript under the watchful eye of my editor-in-fur. She’s fluffy, silent, and adorably judgmental.

🌸Plant diversity dynamics over space and time in a warming Arctic 🌸 Our new study @nature.com analysed plant diversity change in >2000 tundra plots over 4 decades. We found that plants changed unevenly, mostly driven by warming and biotic interactions. www.nature.com/articles/s41... 🧵 (1/7) 🌐🧪🌱🌍
⏳At the beginning of April I completed 25% of my #MSCA placement @voltcenter.bsky.social. 😱 To celebrate, I wrote a #blog that I hope will help explain my fascination with #isoprene! 🌱 Click below to find out more! #uArctic_project
#ciencia #microbios #clima #MSCA #uArctic_project
Meet @dg.dk @voltcenter.bsky.social's assistant professor @danilloalvarenga.bsky.social, who works with @kathrinrousk.bsky.social on #cyanobacteria and #moss interactions on a #molecular level, and their importance in different #ecosystems! youtu.be/pvJjzXq_hQQ

Are you going #EGU25 @egu.eu ? Here is a nice summary of all the talks and posters by the @voltcenter.bsky.social so you do not miss them ! 🤩
@voltcenter.bsky.social will attend #EGU25 @egu.eu! I'm ready for an overload of great science. Hope to meet many of you next week. You can find a list of our contributions (#VOCs in #marine, #freshwater and terrestrial #ecosystems, #carbon and #nitrogen cycling, #remotesensing) in this thread:
We used #ARALAB climate chambers to mimic future #climate conditions and studied how arctic plants respond to a warmer future with more frequent extremes. We will have a few more papers from this large experiment, including setting the observed responses in ecosystem model #LPJGUESS. Stay tuned.
Check out our newest #research! We quantify the interactions between increased #temperature & #heatwave & #drought in #Arctic #plants, with focus on #VOCs, #photosynthesis & #phenology. doi.org/10.1111/gcb.... @voltcenter.bsky.social @dg.dk @villumfonden.bsky.social @globalchangebio.bsky.social

Yesterday, we dove into a collective creative writing experience led by Paul Acker—scientist, performer, and writer. We crafted and performed incredible texts, exploring the inner world of scientists, the duality of being both human and researcher. The energy was electric, the words alive. What a ride!
