If we’re talking conspiracy theories: is Cranky Kong the original Donkey Kong (more of a nickname for a guy who used to throw barrels at you if you tried to stop him from kidnapping or criticized his parents for the typo on “Monkey Kong”), and the Donkey Kong you see here Donkey Kong III?

Saw this picture and trying to figure out the Diddy Kong situation is leading me down a rabbit hole that can only end with me rejecting the moon landing

The Donkey Kong family tree notably saying that DK Jr is the dad of Donkey Kong Country Donkey Kong but the grandad of Diddy Kong

The local library lets kids borrow American Girl dolls. My kiddo has been waiting to visit for days. (And has been in not the best mood with me.) When we finally arrived, she was bummed to find they only had a boy … named Jason. She took it home anyway. ❤️

Dream big and perhaps someday your blog post will be picked up by a well known YouTube channel so you can enjoy randos commenting on how those who inspired you beat you to your ideas first

Asked an 11 year old if she says “google it.” No—all her friends say “search it up.” Sounds fine coming from a 6th grader. When the New York Times endorses it, it’s advising adults to reenact “How do you do, fellow kids?” (If you miss the reference … look it up.)

NYT headline: Saying 'Google It' Makes You Sound Old. 'Search It Up' Instead.
As online research evolves, so has the language we use to describe it.

if the UI and UX suck or features people want to use aren’t there I promise you it’s not as good an alternative as you think most users just want to get things done on software that works well, and yelling at them about how they’re wrong to want what they want doesn’t actually help them or you

Inside me are two wolves. One's best-known #TTRPG is appreciated for its concise, hyper-minimalist rules. The other has been working on-and-off for years on a game with 7 ability scores and over 70 character upgrades. This wolf is wanted dead or alive by the Free Kriegsspiel Revolution.

Turned in copy edits on my latest book this week so I should probably remind people I have a book coming out later this year. It’s called ETERNITY’S TOMB and it answers the question we’ve all asked ourselves: what if we were robbing a space tomb heading for a black hole?! dmoren.com/writing/eter...

Eternity’s Tomb cover

I don’t care if it only ever gets three “likes” from the extremely small Venn diagram of lit majors and muppet fans who will forgive my poor meter and refusal to rhyme. No more will I be plagued by a years-old draft titled “Fozziemandias.”

Hey, did you hear the one about the guy from an antique land? He says: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert.” And I say, hey pal, it’s the desert! At least put on something to block the sun and some swim trunks! Look upon my shirt and 'dis pair! Wocka wocka!
