I read stuff and it does little to allay my confusion - but I’m comfortable with that - James Island and Gamecocks
Mark Twain saw it in 1906 and we continue our blindness to this societal evil 120 years later - Scott, thank you for posting
Hold on, Oreo cookies is just Oreo! Not Oreos or Oreo’s or what ever I’ve calling them these many years.
I enjoy OTD posts, but 8/26 keyed in a turbulent past 🤦♂️: 1955-Emmett Till murdered 1957-Strom Thurman begins his 24 hr filibuster against the Civil Rights Act 1963-MLK delivers “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial 1968-National Democratic Convention riots in Chicago 28 August sheesh!
With a head full of 50 years of TV crime dramas and detective novels, it seems like I should be seeing more RL murders committed with letter openers.
bad enough we're getting absolutely reamed at the pump but do they have force us to watch commercials on the little tv while they do
I can’t make it to tonight’s party, I need to stay home to descale my coffee maker.
Our state motto translates to “While I Breathe, I Hope.” (spared you the Latin). It’s beautiful, the sentiment of hope. But I wonder what we are hoping for. How we act, live, and legislate does not seem rooted in hope. Can hope be held in a closed and selfish mind, without the love and hope for all?
I remember going into stores to buy clothes. They had these little rooms where you could try stuff on to see how they fit.
Three little birds - my morning visitors just letting me know… 🎵every little thing's gonna be alright 🎶
My old is dog smells bad and is kinda greasy, but I can’t seem to hug and pet her enough. I wash my hands more often than covid
OTD in 1943 Mick Jagger was born - 83 years ago. It’s significant to me mostly because 53 years ago I was lucky enough (lottery ticket sales) to go to the Stones concert at MSG on Mick’s 30th birthday. I was 21 and wondering how much longer the Stones would be around - and yet still no answer!
Denial is futile (but make it rhyme)
It's obviously very sad when somebody dies while attempting to save someone else's life but from death's perspective it must feel like when two items drop from the vending machine.
My wife and I are in mild disagreement. I continually leave lamps on. You see, I grew up in the 50’s when light bulbs, dependably, blew out. Now I am curious as to the performance and failing of fluorescent and LED bulbs - Currently I’m bargaining for at least one lamp in a distant room.
My town can be a little contentious - they fired on the English Fleet in June 1776 (before the Declaration of Independence) and much the same prior to the civil war when in 1861 when the local militia fired on Union Troops in Fort Sumter.
What's your city famous for without naming it?
The tinnitus is strong with one! Me… telling my left ear about my right ear.
Smashed three car windows already to save dogs from the heat. Haven’t found any yet but I’m not giving up.
Good morning, there were no political flyers in my mailbox this morning. While enjoying this brief respite, I keep thinking about how it must be hurting our recycling plant.
Two more Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool vandals arrested. So far, the terrorists have only been identified as an international table tennis champion along with his hippy girlfriend.
Reading about the 250th celebrations in SC of the Battle of Sullivan’s Island, I noticed that British Naval commander was Commodore Sir Peter Parker. And now I can’t get the idea of a showdown between Spider-Man and the Swamp Fox (Francis Marion) out of my head.
Developers were granted a zoning request to cut down “grand” trees (to build apartments) on Grand Oak Blvd. Is this irony? The address alone would convince me to reject it.
Q - How do you like your coffee? -With my newspaper. -From my driveway. Is the morning newspaper still a thing?
