The past few years I've been trying to challenge myself in small ways on things I always thought I couldn't do because I was "too stupid" or "just couldn't get it." I thought I wasn't good at learning new things. But learning new things is a skill in itself that one can practice.

I used a lot more acrylic inks on this one, letting the inks pour and run across the paper and then painting over the top of them once they dried. I really like the effect! "All That Will Grow" Watercolor, acrylic ink, gouache, and color pencils.

Working on a new piece; thinking about star thistles, how in the western US they are an invasive and noxious weed that readily takes over land that has been disturbed and degraded. or something.

I used a lot more acrylic inks on this one, letting the inks pour and run across the paper and then painting over the top of them once they dried. I really like the effect! "All That Will Grow" Watercolor, acrylic ink, gouache, and color pencils.
