I've had people who can't afford to support monetarily be the reason paying clients find me just through word of mouth alone. My next customer might not see my post, but they might see your repost of my work or comms.

Pro tip: you don’t have to comm artists to boost and support them. People claim they can’t support artists and creators because they are financially strapped, but they can still boost posts, comment, like, and in general just be supportive! It’s completely free outside of an internet connection ;)

Apparently there was an announcement today that it is coming to Switch. So, I am making a reminder announcement that Spirit Crossing, by Spry Fox, is a genAI game, and the co-founder is a less than desirable person to support. Even though it isn't in this thread, they are in fact generating code.

If you're searching for an analogy, it's more like using autocomplete on your phone or PC when drafting a message. The AI is indeed writing some code but you have to be responsible and review/correct it or you're going to end up with problematic results.

So, hey, @spryfox.bsky.social's title, Spirit Crossing, sadly does in fact use GenAI. Dev's have confirmed as much in their Discord. There is a Claude file in the game files for the playtest that started a conversation about it, and sadly, that will be the end of it for me. I'm heartbroken...

Chedd Spry Fox — 2:57 AM Hi folks, sorry, I've been AFK with family in town today and only just noticing this AI conversation now, right before I was planning to go to bed! Our designers and engineers are using Claude to make their lives easier; for example, designers will use Claude to help them make a change they want to make by editing dozens of config files quickly instead of painstakingly editing each file by hand. We do not use any form of genAI in any way to create content in Spirit Crossing. All the art, music, etc, is 100% human created. And will continue to be. I personally also frequently use AI to research various topics online.

FYI Apple is now taking a huge 30% cut if you donate to someone's Patreon via Apple's IOS App. AND they sit on the funds for 75 days-- over 2 months!-- making interest while creators watch their bank accounts wither to nothing. Yet again Big Tech fucks creators. Do NOT use the Apple IOS APP.

If you pledge to my patreon through the ios app you will pay an additional 30% fee (Apple's fee, they keep all that!) AND your pledge is held by Apple for 75 days. So if you pledge to me in March maybe I will get that money for rent in June.

It’s so funny to me (now) that I tried renewing my US visa two years ago and was denied, despite the fact I have a perfect history with the US. And the Bolsonaro fam just gets free passes and green cards wherever they want to run away. 🤷‍♀️

I cannot stress enough that following your favourite creators for free on their paid services (Patreon, Kofi, vgen too probably??, etc) will give you a way to find your favs when (not if, when) social media implodes You don't have to check up on it, but you'll be so happy if sites shutter overnight
