Videodrome, Street Legal, Newsroom...but retired now... just waiting for trump to die so I can go back to ranting about toronto sports franchises

Seeing Douthat ending Zombie 60 Minutes talking about how you’re gonna need the news to be truthful, seguing into a sponsor logo for United Healthcare… that was them laughing at you

we have a generation of trickle down economics we can look at now, it should just be accepted truth at this point that it doesnt work and the people who implemented it should never work in politics or the financial sector ever again

it's not just disinformation, it's not just spying. We've had arson incidents in Poland, we've had attempts to bring down airlines in Lithuania, we've had an attempt to derail a moving train in Poland - they failed only through their incompetence.

FM Sikorski: "We are meeting on the day when Russia attacked locations right on the border of Poland, which is also the border of the European Union&the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Russia attacked with modernized drones equipped with jet engines& improved guidance components. 📹: hromadske

Democrats should be targeting crypto, as a Republican constituency, with the same zeal that Republicans targeted universities for being liberal-coded. But they won’t, because it might jeopardize the crumbs that industry throws their way.

If Democrats were serious they would go straight for the jugular of the crypto industry as soon as they take power. There’s public policy reasons to do this (name a non-crime use case), but also it cuts off a major artery for Republican support and corruption.

Another clear and knowable downstream consequence of letting scammers get rich off crypto was that that money would boomerang back into politics in ways that were highly likely to try to skirt around fundraising laws and distort policy incentives.
