Been in a dissertation writing HOLE. What did I miss? 🍭
NYC #Blizzard: People currently out walking their dogs, strolling the kids around, normal early spring Saturday. #WinterStormFern? Trader Joes fully looted. Why?
The Farmer’s Almanac will cease production after 2026, having been fully replaced by Ted Cruz, America’s leading cold-weather skedaddler and #1 Worst Canadian Ever.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was spotted earlier today, January 20, 2026, on a plane heading to Laguna Beach as the state of Texas braces for a rare ice threat and arctic cold front.
Another data point indicating that Polymarket is not a “prediction market” but a public persuasion operation—here it spreads disinformation about Minnesota and DHS signals boosts the disinformation:
"...transfer stewardship of the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputer to an appropriate operator..." And who could that appropriate operator be? Certainly not the universities cutting ATMOS programs? Who could ever want a fuck ton of weather data and why is it Peter Thiel? www.nsf.gov/news/intent-...

I need a linguistic perspective on the Epstein emails. Where are the threads on this? Why do they all "talk" like that?

Super excited to present at #TSRCONF at @stanfordcyber.bsky.social this Thursday! My poster, Weathering Trust: Credibility Formation in YouTube’s Weather Info Ecosystem, explores how “weather influencers” have become critical—yet largely unregulated—sources of safety information. Come say hi!! 🌪️⛈️
Like I said, September is *busy* but I am VERY excited to attend #NWAS25 (remotely) this upcoming week. Looking forward to the digital meteorology panel tomorrow as this topic is pretty squarely my dissertation project (from an HCI, influencer, and platform policy angle). 🌦️🌪️☔ Fuck yeah, weather!

September is starting off crazy busy/chaotic. But not as chaotic as #SpiderJesus💥 Today at 1:30PT/4:30ET I'm presenting (remotely) a preliminary work on #AIJesusSlop at #4S2025. Dive deep into observer theories and how this slop is so much more than #spam. See ya there! 🙏
Exhausted by the news cycle. Here is System of a Down on the first day of their tour at MetLife Stadium. #soad
I'm PhD in graphic design and Cracker Barrel's REAL problem is they didn't go *far enough*

I feel like they're missing a few other totally mysterious cases that are not at all related to helium or hydrogen 🙃
Twice a day, every day, meteorologists around the world simultaneously release weather balloons. But in recent months, fewer balloons are being launched in many corners of the United States. In some cases, helium or hydrogen shortages are to blame.
Very concerned by “Y’all Watches” on weatherwise… the idea that these are areas that the weather service may be considering warnings is not OK. There is a substantial risk for confusion with weather service products. Add that our watches are not short fuse polygon products. That is warnings.
I'm at #CHI2025 this week presenting my paper with Sourojit Ghosh on controlling unwanted content on TikTok's FYP: arxiv.org/abs/2504.13895. This paper was ~3 years in the making and I'm excited it finally found the (right) home!

This feels a lot like propaganda, folks!
These minerals are currently sitting atop the sea floor, waiting to be scooped up and processed. Through #NOAA’s mapping tech and licensing abilities, we are helping industry leaders find, collect and bring back these minerals to benefit the #USA & domestic manufacturing.
Someone made a lot of money. The SEC shall investigate! Oh wait, no... it won't (forgot about that Feb 18 executive order for a moment).

In December, I wrote a piece about people's declining ability to process information, to distinguish fact from opinion, etc, and how this might soften us up to become overly-dependent on AI. You could read it, but this guy just summarised it in two tweets!

The richest man in the world took over $5K out of this guy's bank account, claiming he was dead. The richest man in the world said he was saving money. He was not dead.
I found a ‘dead’ person collecting Social Security in Seattle
“Dead” Ned Johnson turns out to be very much alive. It took him weeks to convince the system he was breathing and to start clawing his benefits back.
