It’s been 150 years since the Battle of the Little Bighorn, one of the most famous and enduring events in U.S history. While Native Americans were victorious, the battle reshaped the government’s policy toward Indigenous people and still resonates so deeply for many today. https://to.pbs.org/4wND62e

Thomson Reuters, which owns news agency Reuters, has signed a $125M deal giving ICE access to its databases of personal data. USA Today has partnered with Palantir to gain "actionable intelligence" on its audiences. The media should be opponents of Trump's police state — not collaborators.

Indigenous people represent 18% of the world’s extreme poverty, but only 6% of the population In the US, median household earnings are among the lowest Unemployment rates are among the highest They are 400% more likely to be incarcerated And they are 300% more likely to be killed by police

Three feathers hang on a cord against a tree; overlaid text states Indigenous people in the US are three times more likely than whites to be killed by police.

August's cuts, aimed squarely at poor and transit-dependent people by our middle management "betters" at Tri-Met, are alone probably enough for the system doom loop. But, hey, they employ a lot of old wh*te money names and give out no-bid contracts to a fucking security company from fucking PA.

This is a very worrying story. Ecuadorian fishermen are being attacked and killed, and the perpetrators seem to be either the U.S. military engaged in clandestine operations or an American mercenary company working for Bukele or another Central American country.

Far out in the Pacific Ocean, Ecuadorean fishermen have been attacked by unidentified “gringos” using drones, survivors say, spurring a mystery over whether the American military, the armed forces of another country or private military contractors were behind the strikes.

One fishing boat has been lost at sea since January, the U.N. says, with eight people still missing and presumed dead. The survivors of two other vessels said they came under attack in March by English-speaking assailants wearing matching uniforms with American flag patches, but without any clear insignia to link them to an official government force.

Some of the surviving fishermen said they had been hauled out of the water, questioned and then handed over to El Salvador’s navy before being released. The Pentagon has denied involvement, as has the U.S. Coast Guard.

Survivors have also said that a plane followed and seemingly surveilled them before the strikes.

The New York Times analyzed flight data and found that a maritime patrol plane — based out of a military base in El Salvador — flew in the direction of all three boats in the days before they were attacked. The pilots onboard spoke English with American accents, according to air traffic control communication recordings.

Video of an ICE agent pulling a gun on a wife and mother, who is a US citizen born and raised in the area, near Bailey's Crossroads in Northern Virginia yesterday. Chillingly, they claimed she “almost ran them over” until she told them she had video proving that was a lie.

Tomorrow, the City Council is set to vote on the Moda Center term sheet. Before the vote, we should think about these questions: Why did council reject all amendments for transparency last week? How can this current term sheet be enough if we do not know where the first $120 million comes from?

What happened and "changed our children?" The reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act in 1990s that and included autism as a covered disabilities. Schools had to report how many autistic students they served. Who was a cosponsor of that bill? RFK Jr.'s uncle Ted Kennedy.
