I decided on Dragon Age II. I’m romancing Anders because I’m lazy. He’s not my favourite because I find home overbearing but Hawke just has to show up and flash an ankle.
Maree (she/her)@justaddbooks.bsky.social · 5d agoI finished my Veilguard play through and Emmerich is now one of my favourite romances. I’m debating another play through of Veilguard or DA2 before the end of the year. Then I’ll start 2027 like I started this year with Origins and play through the whole franchise again.
How many rounds of chemo would this have bought for Starship? How many nursing hours? How many of those free parking vouchers that you really do need if you have a kiddo in hospital for a long time?
Anne Goulding@annegoulding.bsky.social · 5d ago"How are we going to pay for it?" cry all the journos. Oh, hang on ..... www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

Maree (she/her)@justaddbooks.bsky.social · 2w agoLooking forward to finishing work today and playing some Dragon Age The Veilguard tonight. It’s my third play through and my first time romancing Emmerich and how did I not know how sweet his romance was???? I love him.
Or of the best quiet moments in the trilogy is when Frodo says there’s Elvish writing he can’t read on the ring and Gandalf just stops for a second because he was hoping for a different answer even though he knows the truth deep down.

Maree (she/her)@justaddbooks.bsky.social · 5d agoSo I managed to poison myself at the weekend with ice cubes that had somehow become cross-contaminated (not sure how) and I’m still down for the count. I’m getting tired really easily and need something easy to watch. Or… do I just put LOTR on for the 635353 time?
You know when you’re sick and all you want to do is sleep and tell your colon to calm the fuck down? And you finally have a shower, and that shower just hits? Yeah.

I have home-made quiche, oven chips and a crisp lemonade. Time for #filmgriday and Casablanca.
Maree (she/her)@justaddbooks.bsky.social · last wk.I did a little retail therapy at JB Hi Fi and bought some DVDs. I already had Casablanca but my disc is faulty. So I think that will be tonight’s #filmFriday I had started it a few weeks ago but my disc stopped working partway through. IT is the Tom Curry version. Batman is the Michael Keaton one.

The next time Luxon or Willis or Simeon stand there and tell you that they’re just cutting backoffice bloat and that it won’t affect frontline delivery; remember this. These ghouls are endangering lives!! #nzpol www.rnz.co.nz/news/health/...

Why yes now IS the perfect time to replay Monument Valley.
Tonight’s #filmfriday is Von Ryan’s Express which I have not seen.
In this photo, they’re at Book Hero, who posted a blog post and social media in favour of the PM. So you can, yknow, never shop there again.

Good news everyone! No detached retina. Friend persuaded me to go to Specsavers and they were great -very quick and only charged me $30
Maree (she/her)@justaddbooks.bsky.social · 3w agoWish me luck team. I suspect I have a detached retina so I’m off to A&E as I can’t get an optometrist appointment for another two days.

Movie time. I’m watching Never Let Me Go and I’ve made myself a lil snack platter for tea. It’s raining and I have nowhere else to be.
I’m working my way through the X-Men movies and I’m watching The Wolverine. Pretty sure this movie was written by rearranging those magnetic alphabet letters on a fridge.
