For me, the thing that knocked the wind out of me with this election is that I dared to believe America would get it right THIS time, that America was ready for a Woman President. It hurt having that blind faith in neighbors, friends, and strangers smacked out of me. Dammit, America. 😞

Republicans in California made the same mistake when the marriage equality movement was beginning to pick up. Progress can be set back but it will never be stopped.

The amount of hate directed at Sarah McBride from elected Republicans is shameful. History will remember their words and actions. Just as history remembers those who supported segregation, ignored the AIDS epidemic, etc.

It took me twelve years (!) to build up my audience on Twitter. It took 5 days to surpass the 50% point of my Twitter following on Bluesky. I’m hopeful that the overall growth on this site will negate the need to go on Twitter altogether. Sad to see what it devolved into, but thrilled to see it die.
