Lawrence Sanders’s novel, which came along ten years before RED DRAGON, is overlooked in discussions of early serial killer novels. It’s probably too much for modern sensibilities, featuring taboos like incest and child abuse, but it’s a masterpiece.

No disrespect to Glenn A. Baker, who did good work to publicise and promote the music he loved; I’m just surprised that he was only 74 when he died. He seemed to have been born at age 55 and had been around for the last 40 years.
