Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.
Honestly, at least 60% of the reason I support @rangedtouch.bsky.social on Patreon is because I really enjoy listening to @ckunzelman.bsky.social talk about movies.
Related ghost question: I don’t believe in ghosts. And people tell they’ve seen them. And I believe they saw what they saw. But is there any way to communicate this that doesn’t sound condescending? Like “I believe that you thought you saw a ghost” sounds like an asshole thing to say.
Same, except my own “strong personal convictions” are “ghosts aren’t real”
Every horror movie should start with this exact disclaimer
4 decades on this earth today and still going, can you believe it?
"You being smarter than the movie is not interesting to anyone" is such an annoying take. I'm not trying to be interesting when I say a movie is frustratingly shallow, I'm saying it sucks that everything's for dullards and it's insulting that anyone who wants more than obtuse slop is called a snob.
Hello I have made this due to a mutual having issues with some folks on here forgetting this fact and shouting at him for it. Feel free to use it as a handy PSA x
Let’s be clear here, when scientists say mistakes were made at the start of the pandemic, we DO NOT mean that we did too much. We mean not socially distancing quickly enough, not making tests widely available, and not acknowledging COVID is airborne and distributing N95 masks to everyone.

A ★★★★ review of The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928)
This film looks incredible. It consists mainly of close-ups, mostly of faces. The most important one is Maria Falconetti’s. She has an amazing face that she has incredible control over. She manages to...

It takes a real producer mindset to think that “from the producers of” will be meaningful to anyone or have a real impact on the identity of a movie
Why are people always recording short-form content in their cars?
They're calling it "getting cracked" now? Well, the only one I want to get cracked by is Razor1911!
You ever think about how fucked up it is they keep calling him Alf even though he told them his name is Gordon Shumway?
I was thinking this should be a service offered by funeral directors. Obviously it's a premium offering, but you can direct in your will for a couple of blacked out limos to arrive and men in black overcoats and shades watch the burial from a distance, before departing anonymously.
At the funeral, a couple of black cars turned up, with a number of men in black overcoats. They stood together and away from the grave and left before anyone could ask questions
I’m forever chasing that feeling of being 11 and being in the exact moment of opening a Pokémon card booster pack
I know a lot of people have stopped paying attention to labubus which is fine but there is an important update: the newest ones have hair for some reason and look like hardworking divorced mothers from the 90s.
Humans: "I would like to go get food, get to work or school, and have a little fun now and then." The society humans built: "Sure thing. That will cost you $12,000 a year and you can only do it if you're above a certain age and physically capable of operating heavy machinery."
Nobody disputes that having access to a car in a car-dominated society is good. It gives one access to jobs, healthcare, food, education, social opportunities and more. All we're asking is for people to go one step deeper and ask why access to such basic rights requires buying and operating a car.
I grew up in Jackson Heights in Queens and we still had a car, and our lives got measurably better when we did.
