Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

Related ghost question: I don’t believe in ghosts. And people tell they’ve seen them. And I believe they saw what they saw. But is there any way to communicate this that doesn’t sound condescending? Like “I believe that you thought you saw a ghost” sounds like an asshole thing to say.

I'm not trying to be interesting when I say a movie is frustratingly shallow, I'm saying it sucks that everything's for dullards and it's insulting that anyone who wants more than obtuse slop is called a snob.

Let’s be clear here, when scientists say mistakes were made at the start of the pandemic, we DO NOT mean that we did too much. We mean not socially distancing quickly enough, not making tests widely available, and not acknowledging COVID is airborne and distributing N95 masks to everyone.

I was thinking this should be a service offered by funeral directors. Obviously it's a premium offering, but you can direct in your will for a couple of blacked out limos to arrive and men in black overcoats and shades watch the burial from a distance, before departing anonymously.

I know a lot of people have stopped paying attention to labubus which is fine but there is an important update: the newest ones have hair for some reason and look like hardworking divorced mothers from the 90s.

Nobody disputes that having access to a car in a car-dominated society is good. It gives one access to jobs, healthcare, food, education, social opportunities and more. All we're asking is for people to go one step deeper and ask why access to such basic rights requires buying and operating a car.

I grew up in Jackson Heights in Queens and we still had a car, and our lives got measurably better when we did.
