Just a random guy on the internet. Ravenloft & Star Munchkin RPG writer, Replica Ship Half Moon chronicler in former lives. Mostly just listening these days. That actually is me in the hazmat avatar.

one aggressive hardball thing I would like to see happen is blue states coordinating to have deliberately contradictory and difficult to navigate regulatory environments for hostile regime-aligned businesses such as X. what red states did with abortion pre dobbs.

Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences

If someone says "this photo's from 2023!" and they don't provide a link: Bullshit. If someone provides a link to a 2023 "source," but the "source" doesn't include the photo: Bullshit. If someone posts an "original" photo showing the subjects poolside, but it's still interior lighting: Bullshit.

@gavingsmith.bsky.social Just stayed up all night finishing Alien: Cult. I’ve been barreling through the Titan novels this year (hooked by the RPG). Gotta say, Cult is a blast, and not just another pastiche. 11 books in, this is right up there with Alien: Into Charybdis as far as I’m concerned.

I have faith in our modern crop of American conspiracy theorists to somehow, SOMEHOW, concoct an explanation for how that tarp means that Trump's name was, magically, never actually removed

I am more than mildly shocked to declare that MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE kinda rules. Doesn’t quite reach the soaring heights of DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES for me but it goes on the same shelf.

0n my knees, pleading, tears in my eyes, I ask: what is this monstrosity? Why is the brain in the big toe, why are there four fingers on what I guess is a foot? Why are all the internal organs below the solar plexus inside of this HAND FOOT? Yes, AI is certainly the future. One without humans.

A poster, obviously AI generated, that purports to show the internal organs in relation to each other, but they are inside of a foot that has four fingers, one of which is a thumb that contains the brain.

found a whole operation of unmanned youtube channels making completely unchecked long form slop videos where the ai voice simulacra regularly trips up & does this for a full ten minutes every time. all the very legit comments are like "NO! THATS NOT TRUE! YOU LIE HE DID NOT" & never acknowledge it.

A shot of the Virginia Theatre after the conclusion of the last screening on the last night of the very last festival. (The movie was the American president, and Rob Reiner was originally gonna be here.) What an astounding trip it's been. I was blessed to have been able to participate.

A nighttime shot of the Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Illinois, a 1000-seat movie house where EbertFest took place for 27 years. It's on the campus of the university of Illinois at Champaign Urbana, where Roger Ebert attended college and studied journalism. The marquee says EbertFest: The Last Dance, April 17 &18. In the foreground is the head and shoulders of a bronze statue of Roger Ebert.

I highly recommend that everyone follow artists. If you do, your feed is filled with art every day. Real, original art. It's bonkers that you can even have this. Amazing. Undeniably cool. And then support those artists, when you can, because that helps the delight continue.

Just got caught up with season 2 of #1670Netflix, the "workplace comedy" set in 17th Century Poland. Others have aptly described it as a melding of The Office and Blackadder. Have no idea how they managed to up the emotional stakes so much in this deeply silly framework. Justice for Regina!
