I used my 100 free searches, and was impressed enough that I'll spring for a subscription in the next payday or 2. Like DDG I can turn off the AI crapola, and search results are just...good. I'm a freelance writer, so I need good search. DDG is good enough most days, but Kagi seemed better to me.

We believe AI in Kagi should always be useful: there when you want it, gone when you don't, and never at the cost of your privacy. YOU are in control of your search engine - so now you can turn off AI in Kagi Search completely, with one switch. Try it: kagi.com --> Settings --> AI
Today is as good a day as any to switch up your default Kagi companion. Don't forget to look over the community submitted options, too! Log in to kagi.com --> Settings > Appearance > Homepage Companions

Changning my search engine to @kagi.com has been a total game-changer. Actually getting research results from a search engine seems revolutionary in this age of ads and AI slop. I highly recommend checking them out if you don't know them yet.
Kagi saves my fact-checking ass at least five times a day. It’s not cheap but worth every penny. The secret sauce is to be able to ‘mute’ sites you don’t want showing up in search results — never realized how important that was until I put it in action.
Sports scores now show up in a sidebar widget next to search results, so you can quickly check upcoming games, live scores, and recent results, just in time for the World Cup!
Well after a few weeks using @kagi.com as my primary search engine—& their Orion browser on desktop & mobile—I decided to subscribe. It’s genuinely incredible having *straightforward, capable search* again—no adware to wade through, no AI summary at the top (it’s 100% optional)—just relevant results

Have been playing around with the free tier & honestly, both the ad-free search & the “lenses” that make it easy to search distinct internet neighborhoods (e.g. academic, or the “small web” of blogs &c.) are making me think paying for search might be worth it
Been using Kagi for search recently and I had apparently completely forgotten how well websearches used to work. Wild how much I didn't notice search slowly becoming useless around me over time till I had some contrast.

I gave up on google search years ago, it was horrible, & getting shittier every day, switched to duckduckgo, which was ok, but just switched to @kagi.com for ad-free search & it's worth paying for. It's no longer like every search is an excuse to try to get me to buy something.
I searched Google Maps for "laundromat" and the first place it recommended was a car wash. Is it any wonder why I switched to @kagi.com for search?
What's a better way to express the act of Kagi-ing?

I can’t believe I’m actually paying for search, but my god it’s an incredible time saver and my blood pressure is five points lower. Anyway, @kagi.com is a pleasure to use.

Been playing around with #Kagi Search to replace #Google and #DuckDuckGo and so far I am pleased. My autistism driven quest for information is needy. Google is useless, Duck Duck Go is "okay"/"great for free", but for me @kagi.com seems to provide the best search and at a reasonable price.
