My mate and I finished our quinquennial Godzilla rewatch. I dug up or old rankings and put together a small chart showing how our opinion have changed since our first run 10 years ago.

I was thinking about Slitterhead and reading up on what Toyama is up to these days. Surprised to learn that Slitterhead was explicitly *not* made with a sequel in mind. Felt like it ended kinda on a cliffhanger and would love to see them iterate on the concept. Oh well.

There's a lazy thing in mystery narratives that I dislike. A character will say something without context that hints at something that turns out to be a a false assumption. But then when you DO know the context, their wording doesn't make any sense, outside of misleading the audience.
