Finally reading Gutierrez deeply has made me very cognizant of how much political theology operates according to a kind of moral perfectionism. This is directly opposed to the historical enmeshment that liberation demands.

It’s hard to overstate what a strange bird charismatic reformed churches are. It wasn’t until I read Carlos Eire’s “The Flew” that I came to understand just how central cessationism was for broad swaths of the reformation. to be undone by some excellent key changes.

“Christian Nationalism” as a term has stigmatized a lot and explained very little. I’m ready to see it retired so we can more closely examine the four or five discrete theopolitical it has tried to name.
