I've once again been going through The Cork Examiner (in search of yet another known family scandal) and I'll probably share some other stuff here, but I came across a word (from 1864) that I would no doubt be crucified for using on Bluesky: burglariously. (my family not involved!)

The mysterious Lion of Kea, thought to be around 2,800 years old but little studied and almost absent from the archaeological literature. Made for an atmospheric stop high in the island hills today. 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷

Curiosities. A neo-impressionist painting of bourgeois Bretons consumed at a fair or religious festival by a sideshow of magic lantern still and moving images. Ferdinand Loyen du Puigaudeau (1864-1930), La Lanterne magique, huile sur toile, signée en bas à droite, 50 x 65 cm.

Several figures in bourgeois Breton costume looking at projected images.

The stunning portrait depicts a daughter of Akhenaten and Nefertiti. It was unearthed in Akhetaten/Tell el-Amarna. This city was established by Pharaoh Akhenaten as a new capital. Dating around 1345 BC. On display at Neues Museum Berlin 📷 me 🏺 AncientEgyptBluesky #Egypt

A finely sculpted head of a woman, carved from reddish-brown stone. The figure features a smooth, bald scalp, elegantly shaped lips, and symmetrical facial contours. Both the eyes and the eyebrows are hollow, intended for inlays that are now missing. The portrait is displayed on a light stone pedestal within a museum glass case, set against a plain, neutral background.

1/5. Rocco and His Brothers (Luchino Visconti, 1960) is among the films I have watched most often in a cinema. But yesterday, I saw something that I hadn’t noticed before. The family’s name in the film is Parondi. Rocco (Alain Delon) becomes a successful boxer and we see his hame everywhere.
