Binge read this yesterday and enjoyed it until the very last minute plot twist. I'm still mad. Do I recommend it? Yes, and I will read the next book when the translation is available. (The English paperback was cheaper but the Finnish version had a cooler design.)

Lately, I've been practicing making repeating patterns. Due to this, I finally finished my old washi tape draft I have been procrastinating for who knows how long. I also created a new background pattern that I will use somewhere at some point.

tumblr is having a great one about this, little masterpiece of a post I'd say

Happiness is a husband who volunteered himself to transfer my nintendo ds data to a newer customized model and then download themes and games that might interest me. ;___; The model itself isn't cute but I'm determined to make it cute! 💪

Päivän fuusiosana suoraan työpaikan videopuhelussa: Äkät Ei ukot, ei äijät, vaan _äkät_. Olkaa hyvä.

I've been struggling this whole time with drawing our cat. I decided to end it by doing an art study. Tbh I think the one that wasn't traced catches better our chonk mcchonkface's features.

hating your art is not a virtue, it's a sign of burn out or mental illness. the same way your muscles ache if you exercise too much or your stomach hurts if you're starving. learn to identify it as a sign you're pushing too hard or expecting too much of yourself somehow and check in with yourself.

Hey artists, let's share some helpful things in the community :) 🎨 What's one tip or trick you would give a new artist in your chosen medium? (Or just in general!)

Juttu on valitettavasti maksumuurin takana. www.hs.fi/politiikka/a...

Kierrätys | Uusi EU-asetus ajaa pienyrittäjiä ahdinkoon

EU:n uusi pakkausasetus voi ajaa ulkomaille tuotteitaan myyvät pienyrittäjät ahdinkoon byrokratialla ja maksuilla.

Working on an A.I. policy for my calculus classes. Decided to be upfront about the current situation with LLMs and to give a heartfelt explanation for why the course still matters.

I had again the honor to design Winterhammer's Varjot single cover. Their song Varjot is already available on Bandcamp and Spotify. If Finnish pagan metal interests you, please give it a go! 😁

Ironically, France's government did a study several years ago that found there was no safe or technically feasible way to mandate online age verification without massively expanding surveillance and eviscerating online privacy. They decided to do it anyway.

France just became the first nation in Europe to ban teens from social media and, you guessed it, they’re forcing everyone to upload their ID’s for social media access in order to enforce it. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Yeah, do not use AI detectors. This is kinda why I don't do any call outs or name and shame, there are far, far too many false accusations of AI use happening, and while I'll decline game when the artstyle doesn't pass my sniff test, the possibility for harm if I did put someone on blast is real.

Pick a color palette and stick to it—not just for one drawing but every single one you do. Your style stays consistent and you need to make fewer decisions = saves energy. You can update your palette if you find that you're missing a crucial shade as long as you're not constantly updating it.

On se kyl kun Ipa tarrat seuraa Savonlinnaankin asti.

I usually don't draw seasonal or festive pictures but I got this idea while we were in the middle of doing sauna + hot tub. I had to ask my husband to borrow his phone so I could take reference pictures while still being in the hot tub and then write cryptic messages for me as a note. 😆

Hyvää juhannusta!

This midsommar has been relaxing one. We spotted a swan family at the public beach where we went for a walk, have been enjoying morning coffees outside, and went for an afternoon tea yesterday.

Hyvää juhannusta!

Little perspective trick to have characters standing at different depths in the scene; if you think of the character like a geometric object like any other, they scale towards the horizon like any object. A quick way to eyeball this is they’ll intersect the horizon at the same place at any scale

Muuten kuulemma menny viikonloppu rauhallisesti. 😅
