I read NYT's article about the January 6th Pink Hat Lady, who was under house arrest for about 3 years and in prison for 1. My thoughts: A) Why? Why write this article? B) Cringe. Pure cringe. She's in her 40s and has 8 kids and 6 grandkids. She got a J6 friendship prison tattoo. Ughhh. FFS.

I was tone-policed in a Meta threat about "pregnant person" being changed to "pregnant women," not by one of the transphobes, but by a young, blue-haired "agender fairy" who likes Pokemon and has, "If you’re racist, sexist, queerphobic or ableist, you are not welcome☺️" on their profile. [1/5]

I sent a long text to my brother today saying the things I want to say to our parents. I’m testing the waters. If he’s mad and doesn’t talk to me again that’s OK. I haven’t put nearly as much effort and emotional investment in my relationship with him compared to the one I have with our parents.

I'm gonna become The Junker.

His mouth is almost entirely hidden by the mustache, but he appears to be smiling as the ends of the mustache are upturned. One could describe his expression as "mischievous". Under the coat, the man is shirtless and has a bit of body hair on his chest and stomach and defined abs.

The Junker is a "rowdy dirty boy" created in 2016 by Griffin McElroy (an American podcaster, actor, writer, composer, former video game journalist, and a Forbes "30 Under 30" media luminary circa 2017) in the game Dark Souls 3 for the Youtube series "Monster Factory". Griffin created and hosts the series with his older brother, Justin, who is also a podcaster, actor, writer, and former video game journalist. From the Monster Factory Wiki, quote: "The Junker, aka the Scum Junker, was a regular criminal who fell into a vat of Skull, and became a rural version of DC Comics' the Joker. ... He likes football and country music."

if you ask a cis person to imagine what being trans is like, they will immediately go to "what circumstances would make me want to change my gender". "what would I do if my gender didn't match the way I was perceived by everyone" is oversimplifying, sure, but it reliably never even occurs to them.

Some of us are different. We wouldn't have shut up. Stop making peace with this reality and start listening to the kids that used to get yelled at by the teacher and still wouldn't shut up.

When I was in 7th grade, our teacher put on a video and told us to take notes. Ten minutes in, she threw the lights on and shouted at Steven Webb Stadki, telling him he wasn't taking notes and he should have been. But the thing was, Steve was taking notes. I saw it. We all saw it. The teacher asked if we wanted to stand up for Steve. A few of use choked out some words of defense but we're immediately squashed. Quickly, we were all silent. Steve was sent to the principal's office. The teacher came back into the room and said something like "see how easy that was?" We were reading "Anne Frank." I started to understand. I thought now was a good time to share this story. Don't let anyone tell you what you see with your own eyes isn't happening.
