Tired: taking a 20-minute train from Bath to Bradford-on-Avon. Wired: taking *5 hours* to walk from Bath to Bradford-on-Avon along the very chill Kennet & Avon canal path, plus two aqueducts (...then taking the train home!).

Aww yeah, The Incident at Galley House is full of the good stuff - and its code-breaking mystery machine is scratching my brain in exactly the same way Inkle's TR-49 did six-odd months ago. Delicious.

A version of the epic handshake meme with video games TR-49 and The Incident at Galley House shaking hands over 'using codes on homebrew computers to solve crimes'.

SFB Games have done it again with The Mermaid Mask. A brilliant follow up to Tangle Tower, with an even more ingenious mystery at its core. It's the kind of game where you actively want to talk to everyone about every item just to savour all the great writing, animation & voice performances. Superb!

A screenshot from The Mermaid Mask showing a brawny man called Dirk shrugging his shoulders and saying, "I know that sounds mondo suspicious, but - I just flat out can't say any more about it."

It's weeks like this where insane temperatures have been declared "a risk to life for even the healthy population" of the UK that make the funding and development of games like @thepixelhunt.bsky.social's Ithaca all the more urgent.

I guess all the people living in Europe right now could relate with Penelope at least a little. www.kickstarter.com/projects/ith...

Baffling to me that people think Nintendo are playing it too safe, as if Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, Tomodachi Life, Yoshi And The Mysterious Book aren't all deeply strange games or unexpected sequels. Even Pokopia takes a beloved series into an entirely new genre. The Switch 2 is only a year old.
