Bestselling TTRPG author, leftie feminist, she/her "a certain kind of writer" Working on: Far Field for Massif Press Previously: Shadow of the Wolf for Massif Press Legionnaire - NHPs in Lancer RPG https://kastark.itch.io/ https://massif-press.itch.io/

I managed to get the TTS app I coded running locally on my phone, so that's today's big win Now I can actually talk to people without shoving my notes app in their face constantly 😌

Wow colour me surprised, Hank Green still taking Ls because he refuses not to use The Machine That Lies To You And Also Burns The World. Is he still claiming that it's a disability aid, too?

There is a walled city atop a mountain, but really it is atop all mountains. The peak of the world, of all worlds, its dominion firm over all times and all places and all peoples. For walls to enclose a city, there must be an outside. For the mountain, valleys. For dominion, the dominated.

The main problem with doing the research needed to fully round out a project is that you inevitably need to go further back and read your influences' influences and you're forever running into increasingly nested layers of context and terminology and assumptions. It's exhausting

I saw her for the first time when I stepped onto the concourse, dragging my trunk in one hand and holding my page in a book with the other. The window sat high in the far wall, above regular eyeline so as not to induce spin-sickness in a thousand weary travelers. But there she was.

The Tactical Maps module exists to give you region maps (general mission area) and battle maps, which are generated from the individual zones. Region maps also double as maps for Far Field. Basically, @kastark.bsky.social got me addicted to mission area maps.

2 years of work. At least 1 year for the basics. Now every new feature, every new game supported takes a week or less to get off the ground. #LancerRPG #Lancer

Okay since it has been brought up in public: I have to be so very clear that my playing of any particular TTRPG should *not* be taken as an endorsement. There are some games I play despite the way they're written, because I am a professional game designer and able to rework the bits I don't like.

Once again at the stage of writing where I need to comb through the Lockheed Martin and Raytheon websites to analyse the style of military-industrial marketing copy. It's only been a few hours and I feel dirty already.

The swarm is approaching. I am awake. My fellow pilots are screaming. In her haste, Safi ripped out her feed lines, and now splashes of her chrysalid's blood stain my feet as I run towards my own. A voice rings out across the trod calling the Muotan approach, somehow faster than anyone expected.

England men give possibly their best world cup performance of my lifetime at the Azteca, and now the US crashes and burns after egregious political meddling. Maybe there's hope here after all.

I desperately want to put more spotlight on the idea of comparative etiological mythology in the Lancer diaspora, how it's influenced by sublight space travel and different means of colonial founding, but it's nearly impossible to make it relevant enough outside of one hyper-niche character concept

In the killing-darlings stage of development today and though I've never smoked I am feeling the need for a cigarette
