A lot of interesting replies. In the thread I keep saying "I don't care" and that is true about AI in general, but I am fascinated by the addiction/shame aspect. Especially since AI usage is being adopted by so many intellectuals and academics. These people famously like thinking!

Another thought: in his statement, Hank Green expressed quite a lot of shame about the "dopamine hit" he gets from using AI. As a non-AI user I don't really know what he's referring to here. Is the AI voice flattering him while also doing his job (presumably poorly)? Because that's big weird.

I realized today that the only AI I interact with is against my will. I don't really understand any of this. Is ChatGPT a place on the internet? Don't tell me. I don't care and I don't want to know. I think the is the hill I'll never find that I'm gonna die on.

The thing that's cracking me up about Ossoff is that he is clearly in a groove. I know very little about him (he's a man so I'm skeptical), but I dig how he's achieved political flow. He's just a kid out there.

Do you remember on January 6th when congress had to come back and take the actual vote and Lindsay Graham was obviously drunk and in his shock and delirium he gave a speech that was like, "oh fuck, that was bad you guys. And come on, we know he lost. We knew it all along," Lol #memories

At the beginning of Trump's first term I heard a podcast where Lindsay Graham was asked "Why do you now support Trump after opposing him so strongly?" And his answer was, "I saw an opportunity to gain power and I took it." He just said it, right out loud.

I have a parenting tip. Buy a plain birthday cake and then decorate with small figurines of whatever your kid is into at the time. My kids have never not loved this. The cake is cute, cheaper than custom, and the kid winds up with toys.

Round white cake decorated with Five Nights At Freddy's figurines.

Do I know anyone here who uses a WiFi based landline? We're talking about a landline in an effort to delay giving our kids cell phones, but I'm not sure it's worth getting wired for a phone. We have no functional phone lines as far as I know.

Platner's campaign staff should denounce him enmasse and show that they will put the machinery behind another progressive candidate. That's the best way to save this for progressives, imo.
