In 1693, John Slezer published 'Theatrum Scotiae' – a book of engraved views that offered readers a new way to see Scotland, from castles and palaces to burghs and universities. Slezer was a military engineer from the Rhineland who became Chief Engineer for Scotland.

Firstly, within the UK establishment, there was wbat I have called the Yalta problem. Chatting to Slovakia and Sweden (and Belgium) about seatbelt standards and espartame was too small ball. The UK foreign-policy establishment wanted to be carving up Eastern Europe with Stalin and Roosevelt. + 3
No evidence. Except for the electorate selecting "Brexit", "Red, White and Blue Brexit", and "Get Brexit Done". Leaving the treaties was the only option ever. So, whatever they thought they were doing, they voted to end FOM, among many other things.
There is pathos in someone who clearly wants the UK to do well, but can't actually say the words that need to be said. Stiffling. Please, do share this thread as it's the only way to get it out there on Bluesky. 👆👆 9
