Eastern screech owl Mixed media of watercolor, pencils and gouache on 13x19" hotpress paper For #OwlAwarenessDay
I saw a Green Heron once years ago in High Park. I birdwatch multiple times a week and haven't seen one since. We went on a day trip on the GO train to Stratford this past weekend and did some casual birdwatching and saw 5! It was super exciting.
AVIAN AUGUST TIME!! I've decided to go traditional this year, so all my drawings are gonna be marker and colored pencil instead of digital. Day 1 - Northern Lapwing You can see the full list of birds on @cookiedoves.bsky.social's profile! #AvianAugust #AvianAugust2026 #BirdArt

I recently drew this super fun, funny and cute Watership Down themed image for @limeyemily.bsky.social. If you haven't read the book I'd highly recommend it especially if you are interested in rabbits! #watershipdown #rabbit #bunny #rabbitart

Dot got her RHDV vaccine today. Here she is lounging in her carrier on the way home from the vets. She's been with us for almost a year. She's a very sweet old lady now she's settled in and trusts us.
A recent painting I made with some observations from June ravine walks. Watercolours, gouache and some additions done by hand in ProCreate. I wasn't sure about this picture but I was working on it and my husband walked by and said 'thats nice' :) #sciart #natureart #botanicalart
A little watercolour, ink and gouache painting of a brown belted bumblebee on wild beebalm (Monarda fistulosa). It's one of my favourite flowers. 5x4" on paper. I've been making efforts to learn more about insects this summer. #sciart #floralart #bumblebee #flowers
A recent painting of chickadees on golden rod in early autumn that I made recently. Watercolours and gouache on paper with some touch ups done by hand in Procreate 8x10". I used my own photos and observations from my walks as reference. #sciart #birdart #birding #natureart
Incredibly brazen for the Prime Minister to boast about the “lasting benefits” of expanding fossil fuel production on a day like today. Record-breaking heatwaves. Toxic smoke engulfing cities and towns. Out of control wildfires forcing entire communities to evacuate. /1
The world wants to do more with Canada. Our MOU with Alberta will unlock those opportunities in energy — and create lasting benefits for Canadians.
We are experiencing the world's worst air quality, and we're getting absolutely no response from leadership other than announcements about building more pipelines. Do not normalize this.
When Carney believed net zero was a business opportunity, he supported it. Now that he believes it isn’t, he doesn’t. Meanwhile Ontario cities are bathed in smoke from forest fires every summer and he commits to environmental policy that will kill people.
Painted a tribute to one of my fav little neighbourhood haunts in Toronto:
A poster I made for a show at The Flat Top in Toronto. It's tomorrow night and if you're interested you can check them out on Instagram @ theflattop.

I've been watching a few bird families grow up this spring and summer (from a respectful distance). Here is a bossy Northern Mockingbird fledgling I've been observing in a parking lot beside some train tracks.
I just finished re-reading The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin. I haven't read it in around 25 years. It was brilliant and even better than I remembered which is saying a lot because it blew my mind the first time I read it.
Everybody in the "climate space" (which means everyone on earth...) needs to understand these mind-blowing figures. Google's "total electricity consumption jumped from 31 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2024 to 43 TWh in 2025." In ONE year. The AI corporate arms race is eating the world.
NEW BLOG FOR YOU Google's energy consumption numbers in their new climate report are mind-blowing. 2 years ago they flipped from linear to exponential growth, and their climate impact is blowing out, too. A WILD testament to the obscene bloat and waste of GenAI: ketanjoshi.co/2026/07/01/g...

Here's the finished painting that I posted a progress picture of yesterday. Mayapples, Virgina bluebells and bloodroot on a spring forest floor. Drawn from photos I've taken on my walks in ravines. Watercolours and gouache on paper 8x10" #sciart #botanicalart
