My mom just sent me a video* of a black bear STROLLING away from her backyard peach tree in the most unbothered manner, which is already great, but the best part is the little sound my mom makes while filming, like the "Oh" in "Oh, I see how it is." I love her! *from a safe distance in the house

I'm feeling like maybe I should write something on: how to start a community. You start with you and one friend trying to live near enough to each other that you can walk to each other's houses. You host a regular meal for other friends who live nearby, at home or somewhere local and cheap.

I enjoyed moderating last night's PVD City Council Ward 3 Candidate Forum featuring Yulyana Torres, Jason Kashdan, and Steven London. Turnout was *great.* And it was a really informative discussion of the issues facing this ward (where I also live) and the city, in general. Democracy is fun!
