Traditionally, law has been sourced from verified authority. Then it became open and we could search online. We could assess quality of source. If we use AI, an algorithm generates a response. The filtering is taken out of our hands. Someone else controls the algorithm.

Speaking of universities, the Oz has published an attack on a second law lecturer based on a leak of a recorded lecture. Policy prohibits sharing lecture recordings. For 20yrs I’ve warned of vulnerability for staff & students of recording class. It’s now become a reality that Uni’s must address.

If you're a grad student or an undergrad interested in research I need to you listen to me very carefully. You cannot learn to write good research papers if you do not read good research papers. Stop asking LLMs to summarize papers for you.
As a collateral casualty of the culture wars who reads the Oz to keep tabs on the landscape, I can’t imagine the pile ons and obsessions finishing any time soon.

This is so terribly offensive on many levels. MP unaware of the rules in his own electorate. Offered a lesser sanction than Aboriginal people. Dreadful.
