The firestorm of age-verification laws have done almost nothing to prevent minors from accessing porn online. What they have done is give the state a powerful tool to harass speech they don't like by declaring it pornographic or "harmful to minors."

Today is the birthday of artist Lily Renée Phillips (May 12, 1921-Aug. 24, 2022). Active in the Golden Age, her family had fled Nazi-controlled Vienna. She drew stories for series such as Wings Comics & Planet Comics, & features like Senorita Rio & the Werewolf Hunter.
