I can't wait to read this anthology edited by my pal @wordrat.bsky.social! Such an important and timely theme, and proceeds are going to a great org.

RELEASE DAY! I’m proud to present RESIST, a @flashfictiononline.bsky.social anthology dedicated to resistance! It was a pleasure working with the many talented writers whose work is showcased here. These stories are sure to inspire even in the darkest of times. Links below.

Pictured here a walled in tree grove at night with books sprouting from tree limbs. Pages emerge from the books spelling out RESIST. The wall that surrounds the grove is topped with barb wire. Kneeling in the middle of the grove is a woman who is hovering over a small sapling with a book sprouting from it. The book is casting a yellow glow.

Writing is thinking. Writing is a way of molding YOUR OWN thoughts. So when you hand over your "writing" to monstrous AI apps made by the most craven motherfuckers imaginable, you hand them the keys to YOUR head. AND you strip the work of writers. GRIND THESE APPS TO DUST.

Is editing boring, cumbersome, confusing, inexact, opaque, time-consuming, and tedious? YES YES YES. That's normal. AI might be able to alleviate some of that discomfort, but at great personal cost. This is not a "doing it the hard way is more noble" thing. It's the WHOLE of the thing period.

Please, please, please stop using AI. Its environmental impacts are devastating. People keep using it for social media trends that die in a week - but when people, animals, and/or the planet die, it’s forever.
