This week’s holiday club requires wellies (plus packed lunch, 2 x snacks). Which was fine until I realised the existing wellies no longer fit. Fortunately there is another Big Tesco, with travelator, not far from church.

21.09, just found the email from holiday club (more sporty, less culture this week) announcing that it is Wet Wednesday tomorrow. That means still need to pack a change of clothes, towel and a water blaster(?!?!). Packed lunch ✅ 2 x snacks ✅

I have been successionally sowing seeds for salad leaves with the idea of producing a continuous supply. This was going well until the blackbird realised there’s a nice container of damp soil to find worms in.

A level results and clearing time of year again. As a very shy and retiring 20yo I decided to get a job in my university’s clearing hotlines call centre for a fortnight to boost my confidence. It was quite a fortnight.

Finished work early today to attend the cultural performance of the year. Holiday Club does Shakespeare in a Week! The family dog was also required to attend, wearing his best woolly jumper which felt a bit mean in this weather.

Very well loved soft toy dog wearing a rainbow woolly knitted jumper and sitting on a knee in a theatre auditorium

I wore my #TeaUp summer dress to work today. I really should have done this earlier. I made it over 11 years ago, in the days when I had time to do a two day dressmaking course, then was too bigly pregnant by that summer to wear it, and it only got worn once. It is nice and floaty and cool.

Dress fabric in black cotton with a design of teapots and cupcakes on it.

The Japanese Anemone is flowering, but really close to the ground, below a lot of leaves that have shrivelled up in the heat. I think I need to take some more root cuttings and think about growing it elsewhere in the garden.
