Grown-up with a car, a job, a library card, an AO3 account, and an increasing number of shelves filled with Kpop albums. I keep my ducks in a row. (She/Her)

Bereft. The convenient pool is closed for (scheduled) maintenance for the rest of the month. yes, there are many other pools, but they are not as easy to get to... and not kept as warm

I have to get up and do work (to make up for several unproductive hours during the week) but my bed is so cozy and comfy and the idea of spending another day at my desk after also working 5 hours yesterday is so unappealing. But today should only require 2-3 hours of work time.

It's fleet week, and I knew that at the beginning of the week. I remembered it when I passed a cluster of uniformed sailors yesterday. I had, however, completely forgotten it today until the low-altitude flyover scared the living bejeezus out of me. (The cats were none too thrilled either)

Once again, the building laundry machines are not all in working order (we have put in SO MANY service requests). Missi and have been trying to figure out the best/easiest laundromat to get to now that we just can't load up the car and go...but today i'm suffering through and i'm mad about it.

I have seen namjoon's art collection. I will be seeing the exhibit at least one more time, and I am hopeful that a future visit will be slightly less crowded. I knew what we were getting into going today, but it definitely felt too crowded for me to really dawdle and absorb.

Just got an alert of a flight change for my return trip after Christmas. My beautifully reasonable 80-minute layover in O'Hare is now... 36 minutes. If I want to change it to something where I'm NOT absolutely guaranteed to miss my connection, it's a 3 hour layover and an extra $93.

Finally finished reading the first Masie Dobbs mystery last night... enjoyed it, but not leaping for book 2. Not sure what I do want to read next though. I've got 500+ non fiction books in my library ebook to-read list, but I'm also still feeling more in the mystery zone.

So, I WAS smart enough to pause and put on sunscreen before I left the house today. Unfortunately, while doing so, it appears I temporarily forgot the existence of my right shoulder.

A bare shoulder, with a significant sunburn contrasting with a strip of pasty pale skin

I am experiencing the WEIRDEST fucking PremierePro glitch. I'm captioning, and since it's all scripted content with a clean narrator recording, I'm having it auto transcribe then doing minimal clean-up. (Tedious, but faster than pasting in captions segment-by-segment).

Work thought: It is entirely possible that I will spend a full 50 years of my life swearing at at Microsoft programs, and that is an absolutely horrifying realization to have come to at 3:55 on a Wednesday.

My plan forbthe day was "do absolutely nothing," but I got antsy around 3:30, so decided to runaway couple errands... so now I have groceries for the week and swim goggles... and aching legs from the 3 miles of walking.

My stove is gaslighting me!!! The front right burner on our stove has decided that it will sometimes not trigger the electric spark to light the gas... but only for me! And only sometimes. And definitely NOT when the maintenance guy just showed up to check on my ticket about it.

Seeing Minho doing a very innocent version of his dance challenge with two of the hearts2hearts girls and my only thought is "it's not a question of whether those girls call him samchon.... but how hard changmin laughed when he found out."

Tried to get my body to remember the mechanics of flip turns at the pool tonight with.... mixed results. First try got the initial flip, but came up in backstroke position Second try... made the full turn, but gave myself a charley horse in the process.

I recently (within the last three months) started taking a fist full of gummy vitamins every day because I historically suck at taking pills, but am great at eating gummy candy. I haven't had any recent checks on my known B and D deficiencies, but I've otherwise mostly given up candy. So... win?

The only problem with building the habit of going swimming a couple times a week is that on pool days, every moment until I get to the pool is spent thinking about the fact that I am not yet in water. Like, what do you mean I have to do 5-6 hours of work first? No economic productivity! Only swim!
