my husband worked in meme tracking for a while and memes are spread by children. there's a summer lull in memes because children are offline. unfortunately, most memes start with nazis and then are proliferated by children.
if I were trying to craft public programs, I'd create a educational games website and blog for kids. the internet is awash in porn and sports betting, but it is also a space dominated by children. there's no reason that public funds couldn't be used to fund online spaces that aren't overtaken by ads

the most disgusting thing about teaching children to rely on AI is that most of idea generation is just play in a different format. I have thought of so many games that I play when I want to come up with ideas. in fact, I only had problems coming up with ideas when I felt divorced from play.

That is a prime reason why so many powerful people want us to run screaming away from them into the comforting arms of selfish individualist competition.
allowing the media to call disease control measures by prison language like "lockdown" was a big fucking mistake
personally i think both of these men should (at minimum) be out of jobs.
