This is what made me feel old today. First graders were using “best friends of 10” (addends that make 10) & I was trying to emphasize they always go together. Me: you know, like a superhero and their sidekick, like Batman and Robin. First grader: who’s Robin? 😂🫠

Just finished reading both of these. Highly recommended The Writing Revolution! So many good ideas. The content in both was fairly similar, but TRW was better IMO.
