I'm in Weybread, where residents have come together to oppose a mega egg incubator. This huge industrial unit would bring a big increase in traffic and heavy lorries coming into a small village that just isn't built for it.
As wildfires rage, Andy Burnham still won't rule out airport expansion. He still hasn't commited to ending new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea. The incoming Prime Minister can't say the climate crisis is an emergency whilst backing policies that make it worse.

Here's what the landlord lobby don't want you to know: If rents went down by 20%, renters would save £2400 a year. The government would save £2 billion a year. And landlords would still make 4.5 times as much profit as the average business.
I've seen on the streets how powerful even the idea of rent controls are that give people so much hope! Pleasure this morning to help launch a report by the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and the New Economics Foundation into making them a reality.
