I'm not saying that the NCAA has only had two good policies in its histories, but: 1. Allowing trans athletes to compete as their correct gender after undergoing a year of treatment (sadly no longer in force) 2. Native American mascot policy, because yikes FSU.

This is rough but I think it talks about a lot of what is missing from the Cunningham/WNBA discourse. Namely, that trans people are not hypothetical thought experiments. They are real people who are being genocided by our government & any coverage that doesn't center that reality misses the mark.

I can't let a trans girl compete against my daughter in sports because a scholarship is the only way we can afford college. Hey, perhaps we have identified the real problem. College is not affordable. Not that your daughter is competing on the volleyball team with somebody who is more skilled.
