I hope this paper is of interest to people curious about the particularities of the Spanish case and to interest groups and gender and politics literature! On positionality as a male researcher on this topic, I made an effort to represent my interviewees’ perspectives faithfully and respectfully.

Two broader contributions: 1) Citizen groups can also use insider tactics of influence, similar to what professional lobbies do. 2) Having women in parliament does not only matter because they act differently, but also because they constitute entry points for female activists.
