I really really HATE fake accounts claiming to be news services or similar but all they do is post the same stupid and completely identical "something blah blah blah on sale" ad SIX times in a row. 🤬 If this keeps, up I'm going to go make a feed so we can block them all at once. Over this crap.

The colder autumn nights in Germany coaxes this magnificent eagle, Oropherion, to spend his nights in his heated indoor winter aviary. This is an African Martial Eagle (Polemaetus bellicosus), the largest eagle species native to Africa. (Cr @birdsofprey_nathalie_denolf) #birds #eagle

For anyone interested in trying paper piecing, it's not as bad as it might seem. Fabric pieces are placed on the blank side of the paper. Holding your paper against a light helps. You pin on the side with your sew lines. The numbers tell you the order to sew pieces. Press after sewing. #quiltsky

A piece of paper with shapes and numbers in the shapes is held up to a light showing a piece of fabric covering the shape labeled number one. This is a technique called Foundation paper piecing that's used in quilting.A series of geometric shapes labeled one through five is printed on a piece of paper. There are pins through the corners of the square labeled one at the center of the paper. This is a technique called paper piecing and is used in quilting.A square of light green has two triangles over the edges, each triangle clearly has two pins in it. These triangles will be sewn to each opposite end of the square as part of a quilting technique called Foundation paper piecing.

When my Marseille-born Alliance Française teacher told me the French word for quilt was “patchwork” (in a strong French accent) I was like, “I guarantee that’s not what the Govt of Québec calls it”, but I did not know until today what they actually do call it!
