The #NWSL plans to kick off its 2027 season on Feb. 11 in LA, 3 days before the Super Bowl across town. It's the earliest NWSL start ever, necessary due to ~7 weeks off for the World Cup. More on NWSL realities of February, World Cup...and scheduling as MLS flips its calendar:

Both Marines are on the floor. Johannès made a huge shot in transition and the Liberty made a bunch of straight shots in transition. You can't get those looks if your defense isn't getting stops and after that timeout they've been more intentional about pushing the ball.

This isn't a relitigation of COVID, but a thing I think about a lot is how the happenstance of life means that for many, what you were doing and where you were in spring 2020 had a lot of long-term effects (positive and negative) on people's careers and lives. Random choices had big effects.
