Okay, well, Phillies need to bring the exact same energy into tomorrow, and the Diamondbacks need to bring entirely different energy. We'll try this again then.

i really can’t bring myself to care about AI anthropomorphism debates. “is AI thinking?” i don’t know. is a calculator calculating? questions for the philosophers. what’s important is that we put sam altman in prison.

Obviously, I was influenced by reading the NY Times list first, which criminally underrated both Hacks & Station 11, but when I tried to think about shows that were left off, Broadchurch is what immediately came to mind.

My list of top shows: 30 Rock, The Americans, Hacks, The Pitt, The Leftovers, Broadchurch, Station Eleven, The Great British Bake Off, Fleabag, Mare of Easttown.

I online adjunct for a certain for-profit university. I hate everything they stand for, but the academic job market is so precarious, I've always kept it in case my lectureship is non-renewed. Well, I'll have to get over that anxiety, because they just implemented automated AI grading w/ no opt-out.

I decided to start actually watching baseball after last year's world series, and it took one season to move me from "baseball is so boring; who why would anyone watch it?" to "baseball is the perfect sport." #GoDBacks 🐍

Okay writing faculty, what are we doing to go more analog and human in the classroom while also keeping our classes accessible? After two years of teaching online sections during this AI hellscape, I'm back in the classroom this year and looking to try some new (& old) things #academicsky #edusky

It’s such a bummer. Online/asynchronous/virtual teaching can be incredibly valuable and with a little extra structure can be an amazing and scalable resource but now AI has rendered the whole enterprise impossible.

I actually won two Goodreads giveaways recently! I just got this one, thought, huh, ok, I forgot I entered this one. Then I read the back cover and got the ick 😬.

Book cover for Human Raised by Dana Suskind. The title is illustrated as an embroidered patch with AI in "raised" in silver while the rest of the stitching is green. The back cover includes praise by Adam Grant, Eve Rodsky, Jonathan Haidt, Eric Schmidt (former Google CEO), and Angela Duckworth.
