My husband showed my mother-in-law (in the UK) his ballot today, and she nearly lost her mind. She was like WHO FILLS ALL THOSE THINGS OUT.

My teenager is voting, and she just was like DONT SPOIL IT. 😂😂😂

No stickers in our ballots this year, my husband was so sad he shook his envelope upside down to "double check". 😂

I pay taxes for schools despite not having kids because I live in a society. The retired people who don't want to pay property taxes are weird. They still use roads and other public services. But the US is a deeply individualistic society run by Republicans hyper-focused on exclusionary policies.

Linking costs to corruption has been a smart move and I'm glad to see more Democrats doing this.

One of the reasons I don’t call myself “pro choice” anymore is because the phrase hides the fact that being able to access abortion care has little to do with individual decisions

Just a reminder that this general election is likely to be wacky - We just got our ballots in the mail yesterday. Vote early if you can, make sure your vote is in. Here in Washington we have three crummy initiatives and a bunch of folks to vote on. (And yeah, no on ALL THE INTIATIVES.)
