Scientist, educator, concerned citizen. Isotopes and molecules are my thing. (she/her)

Reposting great tips that helped me to write a guide for my own students. Key points: AI-text 1) is inaccurate, 2) amplifies bias, 3) relies on other people’s words and ideas. But also, useful. I invited students to teach me how they use it. They pointed out things I’d never think of! Amazing 🧪⚒️

BU's Computing Data Science policy is #26 "Give credit to AI tools whenever used...add an appendix showing (a) entire exchange, highlighting most relevant sections (b) precisely which AI tools were used (c) an explanation of how the AI tools were used (d) why AI tools were used" #AcademicSky #Edusky

I’ve taught about climate change for over three decades. I’m allowing myself to be cautiously encouraged for the first time. You should too. Thanks @drkatemarvel.bsky.social for this helpful message and let’s keep it going

Here’s a gift link to my @nytimes.com op-ed arguing that because of the tireless work of the policymakers, engineers, activists, and others who listened to the science, we now have a fighting chance for a better world www.nytimes.com/2023/11/18/o...
