My dad has been retired for all of 6 days. Today, for the first time in my life, he called me "just to talk" and thanked me for helping him get to retirement. Dear Reader, it has been A JOURNEY. I am now bouncing between 🥹 that he called and 😐😑😐🫤 that he called.

Watching coworkers demo how they use AI tools is frightening. I don't know that they realize how many mental skills are atrophying with their increasing delegation of thinking. 😕

It does not matter how fast you can code. What matters is how well your code serves you and the people you wrote it for. The amount of revenue it makes. The amount of maintenance that it costs. Old code is profitable code. That’s what you want.
