I can agree to disagree about a lot of media takes, but I saw a take that said "Nolan shouldn't even have attempted to make an anti-war approach to the Odyssey because it's not going to change anyones mind about war" and that is the bleakest approach I've seen about storytelling in a while.
As someone who has spent the last 5 years writing The Odyssey 'Fan fiction' (Webtoon), I really enjoyed what the film had to say about the character. I've always disliked Odysseus, and thought Nolan's approach on the character was far more interesting than something "myth accurate".

actually i kinda *do* think using genAI should be such a social faux pas that the user is marked as a pariah and no longer feels welcome in the community. "AI is bad" is no longer an abstract (it never was), my city has been under a boil water advisory for a week because of AI data centers
Kinda surprised Mando and Grogu reviews are so low. I enjoyed it. I agree with the sentiment that it felt more like four episodes of the show than a movie, and I won’t lie I’m a sucker for a little guy doing silly little guy things. Plus the use of puppetry and miniatures made me happy.
